Overview

Open to: Physicians that care for patients with spinal disease in the disciplines of orthopedics, neurosurgery, and physical medicine & rehabilitation within the Billings Clinic service area.

This is an hour-long, monthly conference focused on quality improvement in the care of patients with spinal disease. Physicians providing care for patients with spinal disease in Orthopedics, Neurosurgery, and Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation are invited. The format of the conference is case based with review of the patient’s history, physical exam findings, and imaging with discussion of options for further care. Several times per year the conference will focus on a journal club review of recent literature and allow time for discussion and review of morbidity and mortality.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Describe surgical and non-surgical options for care of patients with spinal disease.
  2. Identify areas for improvement in patient outcomes based on review and discussion of morbidity and mortality.
  3. Utilize new techniques and strategies to treat patients with spinal disease based on review of the current literature.
