The purpose of this activity is to enhance frontline clinicians’ ability to recognize appropriate indications for genetic and genomic evaluation, select and interpret testing based on current evidence and guidelines, and translate genomic findings into actionable clinical care across the lifespan. The program emphasizes practical application of genomics in prenatal, pediatric, adult, cardiovascular, oncology, and pharmacogenomics settings, with a focus on real-world implementation and workflow integration. Through interactive, case-based education and multidisciplinary discussion, learners will strengthen clinical decision making, improve consistency of care, and increase effective use of precision medicine tools. Ultimately, this activity aims to improve patient outcomes through earlier diagnosis, safer prescribing, targeted prevention, and more equitable access to genomic services.

1. Identify appropriate patients for genetic and genomic evaluation across prenatal, pediatric, adult, cardiovascular, oncology, and pharmacogenomics settings using evidence-based criteria and clinical red flags.
2. Select appropriate genetic and genomic tests based on current clinical guidelines, test performance characteristics, clinical utility, and patient-specific factors.
3. Interpret and communicate genomic test results effectively, including pathogenic variants, variants of uncertain significance, secondary findings, and test limitations.
4. Translate genomic results into actionable clinical care plans, including appropriate surveillance, treatment modifications, preventive interventions, cascade testing, and specialty referrals.
5. Integrate genomic workflows into routine clinical practice, including use of electronic health record tools, standardized referral pathways, multidisciplinary collaboration, and documentation best practices.
6. Apply emerging genomic applications responsibly, including genomic newborn screening, fetal exome sequencing, pharmacogenomics, population cancer risk assessment tools, cardiogenetics, and pan-cancer screening technologies.
