Overview

This case-based activity focuses on quality improvement and systems-based care as it relates to the trauma patient. The target audience includes physicians, Advanced Practice Providers (APPs), nurses, and other allied health professionals that care for trauma patients at Billings Clinic and in the region. The format consists of case study presentations highlighting gaps in trauma care followed by education and group discussion. These sessions are live streamed via telemedicine and Microsoft Teams to trauma care providers locally and in the region.


Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Assess the stability of a trauma patient prior to transport.
  2. Provide a succinct, accurate description of the complex trauma patient to the receiving facility.
  3. Utilize improved communication skills to improve patient transitions between the rural trauma facility and the receiving facility.
  4. Support quality improvement in trauma care in the region.
  5. Demonstrate increased professional satisfaction and confidence in providing evidence-based care of trauma patients.

Billings Clinic is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for physicians.

Billings Clinic designates this Live Activity for a maximum of 1.00 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s)TM.  Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.

ABS CC/ABTS MOC Credit:

Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to:
