Overview
This case conference consists of case-based discussion incorporating presentation, appropriate diagnostic workup, and therapeutic decision-making with a goal of reviewing current standards of care and treatment modalities of patients with diabetes, hyperparathyroidism, and other endocrine conditions. Evaluation and treatment of patients with endocrinopathies requires a multidisciplinary approach and advances in treatment therapies requires close attention to changing guidelines and best practices. This series provides a forum for subspecialists, surgeons, and primary care providers to develop competence in multidisciplinary endocrine case management and care plan development, with potential for the inclusion of local referring providers. One meeting each month focuses on cases seeking surgical intervention and one meeting each month focuses on general endocrinology cases.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Discuss appropriate diagnostic and treatment alternatives, both medical and surgical, for endocrine cases presented.
  2. Discuss appropriate treatment alternatives, both medical and surgical, for a variety of conditions.
  3. Utilize clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care.
