Overview
This monthly conference will review cardiac, thoracic, and vascular surgery cases that had
complications and/or deaths, challenges of management, or that provide educational value.
Recent studies and updates to practice guidelines will be reviewed and utilized to develop
recommendations. An additional goal will be development of guidelines and protocols as well as
quality improvement initiatives for the department at Billings Clinic.

Objectives
At the conclusion of this activity, learners will be able to:

  1. Review complications and/or deaths to impact the management of similar issues in future patients.
  2. Design and implement new processes so that complications do not reoccur, and their effects are minimized.
  3. Identify high risk patients and utilize clinical practice guidelines to manage and optimize care.
